When shopping around for a car that you’re worth driving, what would you say is the most important factor to shop for? Is it style? Comfort? Drive? None of those prove to be as important as safety. The two organizations who are foremost in rating vehicle safety are the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS.) Virtually every car you know has undergone tests for head-on and side crash tests. It makes a difference with their stamp of approval. So let’s analyze why that is. Why is it that these cars are so unsafe? These delinquents of crash testers.
Of all the crash testers, the Toyota Tundra is the most dissappointing. You may think that because it’s a huge truck that nothing could penetrate it’s husk of a body. And yet, the car has a lower towing capacity as well as a stiff and bumpy means of handling. It could fall apart any second.
Mirage is a fitting name for this subcompact hatchback, largely due to te many cons it possesses. Yet it looks so safe! Think again. It’s reliability rating is predicted to be abysmal at best. There’s a lackluster rate of acceleration and the most minimal set of safety technology a car consumer may have ever seen.
According to the IIHS/HLDI website, even the latest 2020 Nissan Frontier has a marginal rating when it comes to crashworthiness. Crash avoidance and mitigation is considered more poor. Lastly, the child seat anchors have a marginal rating for LATCH ease of use. Consider carefully.
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Just off the videos alone, we can tell that there’s a poor evaluation of how passengers may be affected by Grand Cherokees. Yet the overlap fronts give off a good to acceptable perspective. That isn’t as much of something to worry about in this case.
We’ve reached the muscle that tussles with the gravity of car crashes. Fun! So far the acceptability of its durability comes from having a specific strength-to-weight ratio. That and the fact that it looks more based on style than safety is of course the factor that makes it so tragically unsafe.
In general, just be safe with your choices in automobile purchases. These crash testers don’t need to be your own, of course.
